Paxos

A short tour of the Ionian Island of Paxos

Our tour starts with the boat transfer from Benitsies in Corfu as it makes it's way to the islands main port of Gaios.

We visit Mogonissi, which is home to the islands only sandy beach, set oposite the smaller island of Anti Paxos before making our wat North to the sleepy harbour of Loggos, home to many of the houses and studios Sunvil has available on Paxos. A short drive up the coast can be found the beach of Manendrini where Tavernas can be found together with a pool area.

Lekka is the second largest village on the island and a stop of point for many excursion trips from nearby Parga and home to a varied selection of Tavernas and bars which range from the tradittional to the more cosmopolitan sea front bars which cater for the flotillas which can be seen moored along the harbour front.

The Greek Island Club have a range of Villas located around the island. For more information, please go to www.gicthevillacollection.com.co.uk

Lakka, Paxos

Located just south of its larger neighbour, Corfu, Paxos still retains the traditional atmosphere which has been lost in some of the more mainstream island destinations. Away from the man town of Gaios, the village of Lakka is located in the North of the island and its natural harbour is shelter during stormy weather for some of the flotillas which sail around the islands of the Ionian. The choice of dining options in Lakka is varied, from small kitchen Tavernas to excellent pizza restaurants. In fact, the choice is so varied you can eat at a different place every night and afterwards, head for the Kafenio to Ariston for a taste of some real Greek hospitality.

Anti Paxos

Anti Paxos is located just a short 3km boat ride to the South of Paxos. Measuring just 3km itself, the island is home to a few villas and houses, no shops and no real roads.

The island features two beaches, Vrikla and Voutoumis. Whilst Voutoumis is pebble at the shore line, Vricla is sandy and is the one featured in the video. Tavernas line the beach so you wont go hungry and older viewers may remember the Flake Chocolate advert in the 70’s which was filmed here.
